1/2/10 – Happy New Year!

Really, Happy New Year to you all. I had a quiet evening of New Year’s reflection yesterday.

Now that I’m older (and studying so much classical philosophy!) I’m more and more aware of the significance of celebrated events in our culture. This one, in our global culture. The New Year signifies rebirth. The sun will shine stronger from each day forward. Nature will gradually bring life back to our environment.

We are no different. As much a part of Nature as the plants, we are reawakened from this day forward. However, we have easily distracted attention and our minds can be pulled in various directions and towards all sorts of thoughts, beliefs, and towards cheesy resolutions.

This year I champion you to resolve for real. I like these definitions of resolve:

1. Reduction to a simpler form.

2. Firmness of purpose.

Here’s to simplifying and getting focused this year!

On what’s most important.

Nature doesn’t come in with a bang and neither should your resolutions.

Let’s resolve to align with our purpose, our goals, simply and steadily. Momentum will build and we’ll accomplish great things this way.

Wishing everyone success in 2010!

The workout:

Starting Things off Right

3 rounds for time of:

5 One arm Push ups

10 Single Leg Squats

15 Knees to Elbows

20 Box Jumps

Post time to comments.
